Nominations open for Scottish Empty Homes Awards 2025
Organisations that have taken an empty property and brought it back into use are being encouraged to enter next year’s Scottish Empty Homes Awards.
The 14th annual Scottish Empty Homes Conference is taking place on 25th February 2025, hosted by the Scottish Empty Homes Partnership, a project that provides free support and advice to owners and communities affected by empty properties.
Hosted as part of the conference, the awards celebrate those who have successfully brought empty homes back into use across Scotland and this year there are two categories open to you, the public.
The Best Renovation Award will recognise an outstanding renovation project undertaken by a member of the public, bringing a long-term empty home back into use.
The Best Environmentally Friendly Retrofit/Renovation Award will recognise a member of the public who has retrofitted or renovated an empty home with sustainability at the core of the project.
Tahmina Nizam, national manager for the Scottish Empty Homes Partnership, said: “In the last year, there has been fantastic work done to bring 1,875 empty homes back into use across Scotland and we look forward to celebrating this success, and everyone involved, at our annual Scottish Empty Homes Conference.
“I strongly encourage anyone who has recently been involved in, or seen, quality empty homes work to submit nominations. We look forward to reviewing them all!”
Entries will be accepted until 24th January 2025, with the winners being announced on 25th February 2025 at the Scottish Empty Homes Conference Glasgow.
Nomination forms can be completed at the Scottish Empty Homes Partnership website.
