North Lanarkshire tenants federation wins Provost award
The NL Federation of Tenants & Residents has been recognised for its outstanding contribution to the community.
The organisation was presented with the Special Achievement Award at this year’s Provost’s Awards.
The special awards ceremony, hosted at Dalziel Park on Friday 20 September, recognised the remarkable contributions of individuals and groups who have made a significant impact in their local communities.
Provost Kenneth Duffy said the organisation has shown exceptional commitment to representing and advocating for the interests of North Lanarkshire residents.
With over 200 years of collective service, the Federation’s executive committee members dedicate countless hours each week to a wide range of activities, from committee meetings to tenant scrutiny panels. Their efforts have led to significant improvements in housing standards, tenant engagement and community development. The Federation continues to be a strong voice for local groups, ensuring that residents’ concerns are heard.
The nominations were made by local councillors and community board members to recognise those unsung heroes whose dedication and hard work go above and beyond to support others.
Provost Duffy said: “Our towns and villages have so many exceptional groups and individuals that dedicate their time and efforts to helping others. We received over 150 nominations with each representing a potential winner. After much deliberation, 37 deserving winners were selected across our nine community board areas.
“I was amazed by the responses and humbled as I found out a bit more about the incredible efforts of those nominated. Their selflessness and commitment are truly inspiring, and we are so grateful for your contributions to our towns and villages.
“I hope all the exceptional winners enjoyed the occasion we are already looking forward to planning next year’s event.”
