Ore Valley Housing Association hosts Green Future for Cardenden event
Ore Valley Housing Association staged it’s ‘Green Future for Cardenden’ event on Friday the 27th of September.
Part of the region-wide ‘Fife Climate Festival 2024’, the association outlined the challenges faced in meeting its housing and net zero obligations and what the possible solutions might look like.
There was a great turn out from across the community, from elected members to local residents, to discuss issues such as the housing emergency, net zero, Passivhaus, future domestic heating system options and our plans for a large-scale district heating project in Cardenden.
Other topics covered included the cost-of-living crisis, energy affordability, heat pumps, infrared heating, solar photovoltaics and ensuring decent air quality in homes. It made for a lively and informative discussion for all.
Presenting at the event were CEO Nicholas Clark, enterprise and sustainability officer Ruxandra Cazan as well as colleagues from Cosy Kingdom, the Fife-based energy and debt service advice service.
