Ore Valley Housing Association is doing its bit to ease the chaos for thousands of workers in Fife caused by the closure of the Forth Road Bridge.

Ore Valley Business Centre in Lochgelly is opening its doors to provide a free and professional working space for commuters who are struggling to travel to work.

The Business Centre, which is based in the heart of the small mining town, is offering internet access, meeting room space and kitchen facilities free of charge. All people need to bring with them is their laptop and work phone.

Ore Valley recognised the huge problem the closure of the Forth Road Bridge is causing for people in Fife, and decided if people can’t get to their office – then an office should come to them. It’s not always as simple as working at home, where distractions are all around.

Nick Clark, business development manager at the Business Centre, said: “Ore Valley recognises the challenges faced by Fife commuters and businesses during the unprecedented shutdown of the Forth Road Bridge. To help play an albeit small part in alleviating the disruption, we are delighted to make the business centre in Lochgelly available for businesses and commuters to visit to use as a temporary work space – with fibre-optic broadband, various meeting spaces and good local services and communication links, the business centre has everything you might need to help minimise the impact of the closure. We look forward to welcoming anyone who might need our assistance.”

Ore Valley has a commitment to helping the community, and currently homes seventeen businesses and charities across the Business Centre and Miner’s Institute, both in Lochgelly.
