The Energy Ideas Fund Heat Pump Project, which was run in partnership with the James Hutton Institute and heat pump manufacturers NIBE, has been shortlisted in the Best Practice in Involving Customers category of the Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS) Good Practice Awards. The category focuses on consultation that brings real benefits.

As part of the project, residents were sent questionnaires and a number of homes were monitored for energy usage, temperature and humidity. Workshops were also held for residents and local contractors to ensure the requirements of residents were central to development of the guides. The finished guides were sent to 281 OHAL properties that have NIBE exhaust air source heat pumps.

The award results will be announced at the TPAS Gala Awards ceremony on November 18 in St Andrews.

OHAL energy officer Robert Leslie, who led the project along with colleagues Richard Flett, Ian Pickles, Suzy Boardman and Janet Mackenzie, will attend the ceremony on the Association’s behalf.
