Over 200 homes planned for Arbroath
Persimmon Homes has applied to Angus Council to build 230 new properties on a site at East Muirlands Road, Arbroath.
The Evening Telegraph reports that the developer intends to hold a public meeting to inspect plans and discuss proposals with representatives.
Arbroath councillor David Fairweather said: “Two sites at East Muirlands Road have been identified in the local plan for housing so it is good news that a developer has shown an interest in the site. We have to provide 800 new houses - including social housing - in Arbroath by 2026, so if this development gets the go-ahead that will be a very welcome start.”
Jim Kirkpatrick, managing director at Persimmon Homes East Scotland, added: “I can confirm that we are formulating initial plans for the development of around 230 much-needed new homes at East Muirlands Road, an area identified for new housing in the proposed Angus Local Development Plan.
“We are currently considering our proposals to ensure that what we deliver meets the needs of the local market and will formally submit our planning application in the coming months.”
