Yorkhill Housing Association committee members and senior staff were delighted to host a visit from Pam Duncan-Glancy MSP who as well as being the MSP for Glasgow City Region is also the Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills.

Senior staff gave a short presentation and discussion on the work that Yorkhill Housing Association has carried out on accessible homes and future plans including medical adaptations that help people remain in their homes.

This was followed by a visit to the retirement complex at Overnewton Court where Pam had the chance to view a fully accessible home that is being refurbished for letting.

Pam Duncan-Glancy, MSP for the Glasgow region, said: “It was great to visit Yorkhill Housing Association and to hear about the work they are doing to meet housing demand, as well as to discuss how they can be supported to continue to meet demand in future.”

Tony Mallaghan, chief executive of Yorkhill Housing Association, said: “It was a pleasure to host a visit from Pam Duncan-Glancy MSP. I was glad we had the opportunity to show Pam around the home at Overnewton Court which is a great example of what can be done in the RSL sector.”

Yvonne Alexis, chairperson of Yorkhill Housing Association, added: “I was impressed to note how seriously Ms Duncan-Glancy took her visit to Yorkhill, that she noted various areas of concern which we raised,  and that she expressed her intent to take those issue to discussions around the Housing legislation under discussion at the Scottish Parliament. It was a most useful exchange of ideas and views.”
