Paragon Housing Association’s Heads Up financial service goes digital
Members of Paragon Housing Association’s Heads Up team kicked off their digital media campaign at the Association’s recent AGM.
Heads Up is funded by the Big Lottery and supported by Paragon Housing Association to offer all Association tenants and members of their households free, unbiased and confidential advice on a range of financial matters.
The team delivers the service in a number of ways including visiting tenants at home and now they have set up a Facebook Page for the project.
Sarah Nicolson, financial support & inclusion officer for the Heads Up project, said: “The take up of the service in its first year has been tremendous. We have helped 166 people and there was a total net financial gain to them of over £120,000. We are trying to make sure people know what help is available to them and we thought a Facebook Page would be a great way to communicate. From time to time we run campaigns on specific issues so this is a brilliant way of getting the information out to people quickly as sometimes specific grants have deadlines for applications to be made.”
Christopher Jones, financial support & inclusion assistant, added: “We think our ostrich logo is pretty unique. We hope that he is eye catching and attracts people to the project. He’s even met the local MSP, Angus MacDonald and Margaret Burgess minister for housing and welfare. Over the coming months check out our Facebook Page to find out what he is up to next.”
