Partick Housing Association delivers 24 new affordable homes
Partick Housing Association (PHA) has completed its latest new build development at Laurel Street in the heart of Glasgow’s West End.
Safe handover of the project was completed this week with new tenants being able to move in within recommended safety guidelines.
PHA chief executive, Stewart MacKenzie, said: “We’re delighted to complete this new development in the West End and despite the challenges of COVID we’re really pleased to welcome tenants to their wonderful new homes.”
The five-storey block of 24 affordable new homes provides a mix of 1 and 2 bedroom flats for social rent.
The development was built for PHA by CCG (Scotland) Ltd, and the design was undertaken by Coltart Earley Architecture and G3 Consulting Engineers. The project was financed by Partick Housing Association, together with grant funding from Glasgow City Council.
New tenants will be moving in over the next few weeks. One new resident of Laurel Street said: “I got my keys today and I am so excited - the flat is absolutely beautiful! I can’t thank you enough - it really is my dream home. There has been so much thought and attention to detail put into the build.”
PHA chair, Alan Howie, added: “At Partick Housing Association, we’re committed to providing more high quality and affordable homes to meet local housing needs in the West End. We’re delighted with the completion of our development at Laurel Street and would like to thank the council, our funders. other partners, our team for safe handover and the community for their support. We are currently working on a number of other ambitious new build projects.”
