Partick Housing Association group holds latest Day of Action
A group formed through Partick Housing Association (PHA) staff and local residents who wanted to improve the local environment has held its latest Day of Action.
The Partick & Thornwood Action Group were joined by local politicians and a representative from Hillhead Action Group for the day.
Feargal Dalton (councillor, Partick West), Sandra White (MSP, Glasgow Kelvin), Kenny Mclean (councillor, Partick West) and Patrick Grady (MP, Glasgow North) all participated. A different area in Partick is selected for the clean-ups. This one focused on the streets around Hyndland Street, Gardner Street, White Street, Chancellor Street, Fordyce Street and Dumbarton Road.
Elaine Docherty, PHA, who organised the event said: “What a fantastic turn out. It was great to see so many local politicians join our group to help with the clean-up. These days are great fun for everyone involved and as word gets out, we expect the group to get bigger with more Days of Action over the coming months.”
The main aims of this group are to try and instil more pride in the area by tackling some of the daily challenging environmental issues we are all experiencing, like litter, fly tipping, dog fouling and bulk waste.
