A formal management agreement between Trust Housing Association and Rural Stirling Housing Association (RSHA) is paying dividends for residents of a general needs development in Killin.

Trust entered into a formal management agreement with RSHA’s wholly owned subsidiary company Venachar Limited in July this year for the provision of housing management and property services at Trust’s development at Ballechroisk Court following close consultation with tenants.

Ballechroisk Court is one of Trust’s general needs developments, with 16 flats in a rural setting. The proposal to work in partnership with Venachar Limited is ideal as RSHA owns and manages 48 properties in the village. The Killin development changed from a sheltered housing development to a general needs development in 2009, but tenants still enjoy some of the communal facilities that you would find at sheltered developments.

Alan McKee, housing officer for RSHA, holds a weekly surgery in the development lounge allowing tenants to discuss any tenancy matters face to face which is a welcome addition for tenants.

One tenant said: “It’s great having someone on hand at the weekly surgery that you can speak to face to face.”

Representatives from Trust and RSHA attended a tenant’s meeting on 13 August. Feedback was very positive and tenants felt they were benefiting from the enhanced service that the new management arrangement provides.

Tony Teasdale, director of RSHA, said on behalf of Venachar: “With our more local presence we hope to be able to provide Trust and its tenants with a quality service, whilst also generating additional revenue.”
