Paul Lennon appointed director of Forgewood and Garrion People’s Housing Cooperatives
Forgewood and Garrion People’s Housing Cooperatives have welcomed Paul Lennon as their new director.
Following the announcement that Cathy Brien was retiring from her position as director, the two cooperatives engaged the services of EVH to support them in taking forward a rigorous recruitment exercise for the position of director, a post which provides services to both cooperatives.
Throughout the process, the panel were impressed by the quality of candidates interested in this position and appreciated the time and input from all candidates.
Further to interviews, the panel unanimously decided to appoint Paul Lennon to the post.
Throughout the process, Paul demonstrated a commitment to the vision and values of the cooperatives along with the necessary skills and abilities to continue to deliver excellent services to tenants and the wider communities. Paul was delighted to accept the offer.
Paul has worked with the cooperatives in a number of positions since 1999. More recently Paul has carried out the role of depute director and has excelled in this role. Paul brings all of this experience along with great partnership working skills and the ability to provide leadership to the teams at both cooperatives.
Paul said: “I am delighted to have this opportunity to work with the committee and staff at both cooperatives to continue to deliver and develop great services for tenants. The opportunity to work with two independent cooperatives is unique and I look forward to continuing working with committee and staff at both organisations.
Victoria Dallas, chair of Garrion People’s Housing Cooperative’s committee and Alan Thomson, chair of Forgewood Housing Cooperative’s committee, added: “We are delighted to welcome Paul as our new director for both cooperatives. Through the selection process, Paul demonstrated that he has the skills, abilities and vision for the position. We look forward to working alongside Paul to take forward services in both cooperatives.”
