Pegasus Consultancy submits plans for 300 new homes and shops in Stoneyburn
Plans to build up to 300 new homes and shops in the West Lothian village of Stoneyburn have been submitted by Pegasus Consultancy.
The plans have been submitted on behalf of an as of yet unknown developer, seeking to build the residential development with a community centre and shops in the village.
Plans have also revealed that the proposed development on land south of Cannop Crescent would have landscaping, roads, cycleways and footpaths.
In the request for an EIA screening a Pegasus Consultancy spokesperson explained more about the site.
They said: “The site is located adjacent to the Stoneyburn settlement boundary within countryside but outwith a defined Countryside Belt and adjoins an established residential area in terms of the adopted West Lothian Local Development Plan.
“The site comprises nonprime agricultural land being rough grassland enclosed by mature woodland and the Breich Water valley. As illustrated within the attached site location plan, the site adjoins Cannop Crescent to the north, established housing at Burnlea Place/Meadow Place/Redcroft Place to the east, mature trees to the south-west and the Breich Water to the south.
“The proposal is for development of the field south of Cannop Crescent and the field south of Burnlea Drive.”
A full planning application is now expected to be submitted to the council, The West Lothian Courier reports.
