Detailed proposals detail the planned build on a former agricultural site near Kings Road that would comprise a total of 16 two-bedroomed homes and the same amount of four-bedroomed properties - though a majority of the development would be three-bed houses - 159. The properties would be a mix of terraced, semi-detached and detached houses.

The site is located less than a kilometre from the town centre. Persimmon said the creation of a development here would bring a number of benefits to Beith.

While in terms of accessing the site, it is proposed that access to the site could be taken via a priority control junction onto Kings Road. It is added that there is intention to reduce the current 60mph speed limit on the road past the proposed development to 30mph.

It is intended that following planning approval the development could commence in 2025 with the first units developed in 2026.
