Perth and Kinross Council approves budget for 2021/22
Perth & Kinross Council’s Net Revenue Budget for 2021/22 of £387 million was agreed by councillors on Wednesday this week.
A Council Tax freeze for 2021/22 had previously been agreed on February 24. Budget savings, additional Scottish Government funding and the use of reserves will be used to offset the £17 million of financial pressures in the Budget.
Barbara Renton, interim chief executive, said: “Perth & Kinross Council is recognised for its prudent financial management and this pragmatism has never been more necessary as we continue to respond to the enormous challenges posed by COVID-19.
“This Budget will allow us to continue delivering essential services, and develop the PK Offer to make Perth and Kinross a better place for everyone who lives, works and visits here.”
Provost Dennis Melloy also confirmed there will be a Civic Reception in for St Johnstone FC, when Coronavirus restrictions allow, to recognise their recent League Cup triumph.
