Perth councillors give go-ahead to 29 homes on former hotel site

Perth and Kinross councillors have approved plans for 29 homes on the site of the former Gartwhinzean Hotel in Powmill.

Kera Scotland Ltd submitted the proposal for a mix of two- and three-bedroom homes, including seven affordable houses, on the site of the hotel, which was demolished after a devastating 2012 fire.

Council officials recommended approval for the proposed development, the Perthshire Advertiser reports.

Raghu Raj of Kera Scotland told the council’s planning and placemaking committee on Wednesday: “We believe this development will be a positive addition to Powmill and address the much needed valuable housing needs in the local area.”

The planning application was unanimously approved.
