Perth & Kinross residents can make voices heard at Tenants’ Conference 2015
All Perth & Kinross Council’s housing tenants are invited to attend their annual Tenants’ Conference 2015 on Wednesday 24th June.
The event will be held at Perth’s Salutation Hotel between 6pm-8.30pm.
Feedback will be given on the outcomes from the recent Tenant Rent and Satisfaction Survey and tenants will be asked about their priorities for any additional rent money.
Tenants can also find out more about the rent restructure review that is currently being carried out by the council’s housing service. The current rent charging structure is very old, and not easy to understand or explain to customers. For this reason the housing service is looking to introduce a modern and updated rent structure across its properties. A Tenant Working Group has been set up to work on the restructure, and tenants at the conference can find out how they can get involved.
On the night, a range of stalls will provide information about health, housing, neighbourhood and community services, as well as information on welfare reform support. Citizen’s Advice Bureau Perth and Perth and Kinross Credit Union will also be there to offer advice.
Children’s activities will be available to keep little ones entertained, and refreshments will be provided. Every tenant who attends will be entered into a draw to win £250 worth of High Street shopping vouchers.
Housing and health convener Dave Doogan said: “Tenants have a vital role to play in helping to shape the services we provide for them, and their opinions are very important to us. The Tenants’ Conference is a chance for tenants to have a positive input into how their local housing services are run and how we invest their rent revenue.
“It’s also a great opportunity for people to find out more about what services and support are available in their local community, and to meet new friends. I would encourage all our tenants to come along.”
