Places for People’s Engine Yard development shortlisted for award
Places for People’s Engine Yard development in Edinburgh has been shortlisted at this year’s Inside Housing Awards 2021.
The development is a finalist in ‘Best Development’ (urban – outside of London) category.
The Engine Yard was built on the city’s historic tram depot on Leith Walk – which was derelict and neglected – and the area has been transformed to create 377 new homes for sale and rent.
The development is rich in industrial architecture, with tram sheds, a chimney, gable and boundary walls – all of which are now being sensitively resorted.
Allison Sutherland, sales and marketing director for Places for People Scotland, said: “We are very proud that The Engine Yard has been shortlisted for Best Urban Development outside of London category at the Inside Housing Awards 2021. We take great pride in achieving the highest standards, from the overall design of a development through to the individual finish of each property, and this shortlist really demonstrates the care and attention to detail that goes into the homes that we build.”
The 2021 Inside Housing Awards ceremony will take place in November.
