The Scottish Home Awards announced their shortlist in the 14th annual competition and three of Places for People’s developments in Scotland made the shortlist in the following categories:
- Affordable housing development of the year – Chapelton in Aberdeenshire
- Show home of the year – Laurie show home at Longniddry Village, East Lothian
- Regeneration project of the year - The Engine Yard, Edinburgh
The highly respected judging panel assessed more than 130 entries in 18 categories received from 70 organisations from across Scotland.
Allison Sutherland, Places for People’s regional sales and marketing director, said: “This is fantastic news for our regional developments and we are absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted for three awards at this year’s Scottish Home awards, which celebrate the very best providers in Scotland.
“We have been overwhelmed by the response to our developments with unprecedented demand in our homes available. Our developments across Scotland have been shortlisted in hotly contended categories and we are immensely proud that they have been recognised on this regional platform.”
The award ceremony will take place on September 16 where Places for People will find out who the winners are. The awards support ‘It’s Good 2 Give’ and the management of The Ripple Retreat a luxury residential retreat on the shores of Loch Venacher in Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park.
The home is gifted to young cancer patients and their families for short stay holidays, and £4,000 has already been raised for the charity as part of donations from entering businesses.
