Plans approved for more than 250 homes in West Lothian
Work is set to begin next month on a new development with over 250 homes after proposals were given the green light by West Lothian Council.
Dundas Estates, the property development arm of the James Walker (Leith) group of companies, will build 266 new homes at Uphall Station.
Uphall Station Village will comprise one and two bedroom apartments and three, four and five bedroom detached, semi-detached and terraced homes, as well as 20 affordable plots.
In addition to the properties, plans for the development include a Community Hub, which will be located at the heart of Uphall Station Village.
Dundas Estates managing director, Bruce Dunlop, said: “We’re very pleased by this decision from local councillors as we believe this development will bring real benefits to the local area, while also helping to ease market demand, which is currently at an all-time high.”
Cathy Muldoon, executive councillor for development and transport, said: “We welcome the plans to deliver 266 new homes at Uphall Station, along with associated investment in local roads and schools.
“We look forward to working with the developers to take the site forward, which is allocated for housing as part of the development plan.
“West Lothian’s central location and growing economy has made it an attractive location for developers, and this will help meet the continuing demand for new homes in the area.”
Work is due to start on the site in February and sales are expected to launch in the spring.
