Plans lodged for 151 apartments at final plot of Leith development
Detailed planning proposals have been submitted to City of Edinburgh Council for the final residential plots within the Salamander Place development in Leith.
The proposals have been developed by 7N Architects for Places for People on behalf of Cruden Homes and will provide much needed affordable housing in the area.
The plan will deliver 151 apartments for mid-market rent across four buildings, with a mix of private and shared gardens for residents.
7N said most of the homes have dual-aspect views, and enhanced articulation of doors and windows on the ground floor provides for increased activity and depth at street level.
The buildings, which will range in colour drawn from a palette of light autumnal hues in brick and render, will be harmonious with the rest of the development as well as the wider context of Leith Links.
The practice is also currently delivering 199 mid-market homes for Link Housing Association on an earlier phase of the development.
