Located to the East of the city, Balgillo Heights will create a development offering a mix of three bedroom terraced and three, four and five bedroom detached homes at the development.

As part of the development, Kirkwood Homes, working jointly with Linlathen Developments (Tayside) Ltd, will introduce village green spaces throughout the site to build and enhance the distinct character and identity of the area.

Following approval of the plans, building work for the development will be phased, with the first homes expected to be offered for sale in early 2017.

Through the emerging Local Development Plan, Kirkwood Homes is also in discussion with Dundee City Council and the landowner in respect of long term opportunities for the area, which have the potential to address future education and community facilities requirements for the wider area.

Returning to the Dundee area after a period of six years, Kirkwood Homes said the proposed development is part of a long-term expansion strategy, as it looks to extend its offering from a predominantly North East of Scotland focus to other areas of the country. The housebuilder has also submitted plans to build homes in Inverness.
