Submitted by the JKM Consultancy on behalf of Viga Developments Ltd, the application seeks permission for the development on a site next to the Bute House care home, just off Barrhill Road.

The 17 homes would be a variation of three styles, all of them with three bedrooms.

A previous application, by Springfield Homes Ltd, was submitted to the local authority in February 2005 and was granted following a meeting of the council’s planning committee seven months later.

The latest application is for a ‘change of house type’ from the original application.
