Plans submitted for Ayr office space flats conversion
South Ayrshire Council has received plans to convert empty office space in Ayr into residential flats.
The proposal concerns 35-37 Carrick Street, which is located next door to the Mercure hotel and opposite the iconic Gaiety Theatre.
If approved, the plans would see the redevelopment of land at the rear of the site to provide amenity space for the proposed flats, as well as commercial parking for the ground floor offices.
The plans have been put forward by Glasgow-based Rosseau Developments Ltd, the Ayrshire Advertiser reports.
The redevelopment of the upper two floors will include ten two-bedroom flats and two one-bedroom flats. A shared lobby provides access to the properties, with communal stores and bike storage on each floor.
Rosseau Developments Ltd believes conversion is needed to provide extra housing stock in the town.
