Plugged in Households Grant Fund workshops and webinar
As the deadline draws near for social housing providers, third sector and community organisations to procure the services of electric vehicle car clubs, free workshops and a webinar have been released to support prospective applicants develop their proposals in line with desired programme outcomes.
The Plugged-in Households Grant Fund is an opportunity for not-for-profit housing associations, housing cooperatives and constituted community groups in Scotland to apply for funding to procure the services of a zero-emission car club vehicle, for use by their tenants and the wider local community to access local services and employment opportunities.
More than 280,000 homes in Scotland are part of housing associations and co-operatives. Often tenants and residents of the wider community don’t have access to private, off-street parking spaces, which means they can’t participate in the Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) market unless they charge solely off public charge points. Plugged in Households aims to tackle this issue by providing 100% grant funding for housing providers to procure LEV car-club services for a period of 12 months.
Eligible housing associations, cooperatives and constituted community groups in Scotland can bid for a share of the £500,000 of grant funding available from Energy Saving Trust to secure the services of a zero-emission car club service for their residents and the wider local community. A car club provides shared access to one or more vehicles as an alternative to private car ownership.
A webinar which was recorded on July 5 is available here. While Applicant Workshops will be held:
- Wednesday 7 August, 10.30-12.30: Best Western Queens Hotel: Perth
