Pop-up exhibition ‘open doors’ to Inverclyde multi-storey
River Clyde Homes is once again giving the public a chance to see behind the normally closed door of a tower block apartment.
A pop-up exhibition by cult photography project Dark Side o’ The Clyde will take place at 95 Whinhill Court in the Broomhill area of Greenock on the 10th and 11th of September, 11am – 4pm.
The exhibition is part of a series of Doors Open Days events across Scotland throughout September,
The £26 million regeneration of Broomhill is past the halfway stage and many customers are already enjoying the benefits of refurbished homes with new windows, new heating systems and smart technology.
Last year, in a similar event, over 200 people visited, leaving positive feedback. This exciting new exhibition will give visitors the chance to view, against the stunning backdrop of the River Clyde, a collection of previously unseen images from the locally acclaimed artist who specialises in capturing the shadowy, alternative side of Inverclyde. The project has a following of over 3500 on Facebook.
Visitors to the flat will also have the opportunity to find out for themselves about the ongoing works to transform the Broomhill area which will provide customers with homes fit for the 21st century.
Ronnie Ahlfeld, a River Clyde Homes board member, said: “Broomhill is one of the biggest regeneration projects in Scotland at the moment. Doors Open Day is a brilliant initiative that takes place across Scotland giving people a chance to ‘see through the keyhole’ of buildings not normally open to the public. Our hope is that people will come and see for themselves the quality of the Broomhill flats and how spectacular the views are. Aside from the exclusive exhibition of photography, and the chance to win a print, there is a chance for visitors to see our plans for the area’s regeneration; a project that is now past the halfway stage.”
