Port of Leith Housing Association pays tribute to ‘unsung hero’ Robert MacPherson
It is with great sadness that Port of Leith Housing Association shares the news that the funeral of Board member Robert MacPherson will take place on Wednesday 10 January at Mortonhall Crematorium at 10am.
Keith Anderson, chief executive at Port of Leith Housing Association, said: “I feel very privileged to have known Robert for the past eight years. As a voluntary Board member for the Association for nearly 13 years, a former committee member with the Lorne Area Housing Association, and more recently Board member of our social enterprise Quay Community Improvements, Robert has been a huge inspiration for us all.
“The remarkable contribution he made through his voluntary work earned Robert a national ‘Unsung Hero’ Award in 2010. This was an extremely fitting accolade for someone who was always on the lookout for innovative ways to improve the quality of life for everyone in Leith. Robert was a selfless campaigner against inequality and injustice, and a remarkably courageous man, who will be greatly missed.”
