Praise for Moray supported lodgings for young adults leaving care
Accommodation and support provided to young adults who’ve left care in Moray continues to be rated as “very good”.
The supported lodgings service helps young people aged between 16-21 move from a care setting into a supportive environment, to help them prepare for living independently in the community.
Moray Council’s children & young people’s services committee heard that the inspection carried out in October 2018 rated the quality of care and support, and the quality of leadership and management within the service, as “very good”.
Highlighted as a strength was the commitment of the staff team to “providing the best service”, as well as “providing very good support” to the adult placement carers, who offer support and care in their own homes to young people.
Chair of Moray Council’s children & young people’s services committee, Cllr Sonya Warren, said: “I welcome the findings of this latest inspection and congratulate the staff for all of their hard work to ensure we can continue to provide this very good and highly valued service to the young people here in Moray who need support.”
