Pre-construction work underway at Taylor Wimpey’s development at Auldcathie View
Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has confirmed that pre-construction work has started for its Auldcathie View development of 101 new homes.
Located off Duntarvie Castle Road, Auldcathie View will provide 46 three and four-bedroom private homes, as well as 55 affordable homes in a mix of two-bedroom cottage flats and three-bedroom terraced homes together with the associated infrastructure such as roads, parking and open space that is required for a development of this scale.
Auldcathie View forms part of phase 2 of the wider Winchburgh masterplan that when complete will deliver at least 3,800 new homes, improved transport links, employment opportunities, and state-of-the-art schools. The masterplan will also provide stunning new outdoor spaces that will include a new canal marina, the creation of Auldcathie District Park, as well as a new motorway junction.
Pauline Mills, land and planning director at Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “We are very pleased that our pre-construction works at Auldcathie View have started. It signals the initial stage of our first development in Winchburgh since 2018, and it will provide buyers with a wide selection of homes, as well as great commutable routes to Edinburgh and the wider area.
“There are several months of pre-construction works to complete before we can finalise the timescales of when we will start building our new homes, however we expect that will be in early 2022 and we will continue to update the local community with our plans.
“As well as an impressive range of new private and affordable homes, Auldcathie View will also provide a range of economic benefits for the local Winchburgh area which includes supporting over 160 jobs per year of construction, as well as the attraction of new customers to local businesses from those who choose to live in one of the new homes this development aims to deliver.”
John Hamilton, chief executive, Winchburgh Developments Ltd, added: “We are immensely proud of what we have achieved in Winchburgh so far, and it’s great to see home builders such as Taylor Wimpey get underway in Phase 2, having previously completed an excellent development at Seton Park.
“I believe that, when complete, the range of homes available, combined with the exceptional lifestyle on offer is absolutely unrivalled at the moment in Scotland. We’re really excited about what is yet to come and hope that existing and new residents feel the same.”
