Proposed Fair Rents (Scotland) Bill submitted for MSP support
A final proposal has been lodged for a member’s bill to protect private sector tenants by introducing measures to limit rent increases.
An initial draft of the Proposed Fair Rents (Scotland) Bill was lodged by Pauline McNeill MSP in May, a consultation on which closed on August 8.
A summary of the consultation has been published alongside the submission of the final proposal yesterday.
The proposal reads: “A proposal for a Bill to protect private sector tenants by introducing measures to limit rent increases and to increase the availability of information about rent levels.”
The bill now has one month to get MSP support.
