Prospect Community Housing celebrates West Edinburgh
Prospect Community Housing was delighted to work with local partners to support a West Edinburgh Intercultural Event at Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange.
The event celebrated the diverse range of cultures in Wester Hailes and the wider community with food, entertainment and music. There was something for everyone, including drumming, ceilidh dancing, children’s entertainment, Indian dancing and DJ Yemi.
Staff from local agencies worked with members of WEGARAH (West Edinburgh Group Against Racial Attacks and Harassment) to develop the event. Also on hand on the night were staff from Police Scotland, City of Edinburgh Council’s Community Safety Team, the Procurator Fiscal Service, SCOREScotland and The Health Agency to give advice and assistance.
Catherine Louch, housing manager at Prospect, commented: “Our vision is “Providing homes and building communities together” and we were delighted to work with SCOREScotland and other local agencies to organise this positive event which brought people together to bring down barriers and reduce race hate crime.”
