Queens Cross award new contracts for repairs and environmental maintenance
Queens Cross Housing Association has awarded two new repairs and maintenance contracts, running until 31 March 2021.
The decision sees P&D Scotland re-appointed to provide the Association’s reactive repairs service in a deal worth £2.4million per annum.
McDermott Contract Services, meanwhile, are awarded the Association’s environmental services contract, worth £300k per annum.
The contracts were awarded following a 9 months long procurement process which involved consultation with tenants and staff.
Peter O’Brien, head of technical services at Queens Cross, said: “The procurement was a vigorous exercise in assessing cost and quality of service, including working with our tenants to ensure the services provided meet their needs.
“The new contracts will provide service improvements, particularly better customer communication, and excellent value for money.”
P&D Scotland Ltd is re-appointed to deliver the Association’s repairs and maintenance services. Almost 20,000 reactive repairs were completed during the reporting year 2015-16.
Peter Cairney, P&D Scotland, said: “We’re delighted to have won the opportunity to continue our excellent working relationship with Queens Cross Housing Association and their tenants.
“We look forward to working together until 2021. We’ll endeavour to assist the Association in delivering community benefits for the young and old of Queens Cross and deliver a service of future works for the Association.”
McDermott Contract Services will be taking over from Alpine Ground Services in the delivery of our environmental services.
Andrew Harvey, McDermott contract services, said: “We’re delighted to have been successfully awarded the ground maintenance contract for Queens Cross Housing Association.
“McDermott Contract Services have been trading since 1997 and undertake similar contracts for a number of other housing associations and leading property managers throughout Scotland’s central belt.
“We’re aware of the excellent work of the Association in serving the local community over the last 40 years, and are looking forward to working in partnership with them for the next five years and providing a first class service to their residents.”
