Queens Cross launches ambassadors programme
Queens Cross Housing Association has launched an innovative ambassadors programme for former board members who have shown outstanding dedication to the Association to continue making a difference in the community.
The programme provides a forum for the ambassadors to represent Queens Cross by promoting the Association’s work personally and professionally, as well as recruiting, supporting and mentoring new governing body members. They will also be invited to attend community events and bi-annual meetings with the chief executive.
Former board members, Glasgow City Council Bailie Mohammed Razaq, and Bridget McGeechan, chair of local charity the Garscube Community Foundation, were the first ambassadors appointed at the Association’s 39th Annual General Meeting on Monday.
Bailie Razaq said: “It’s a real honour to become one of the first Queens Cross Ambassadors.
“I’m looking forward to sharing my experiences as a Queens Cross board member with others and raising awareness of the important role the Association plays in supporting our communities.”
Queens Cross Housing Association chief executive, Shona Stephen, said: “The ambassadors programme is a great way for us to maintain links with people who have already made a great contribution to our communities, shown long service to the Association and know the area well.
“Their expertise and influence will help us build strong communities, deliver excellent services and deal with the challenges that face us today.”
