Reduced build to rent plans submitted for Anniesland
Detailed plans have been submitted for a proposed build to rent development on brownfield land in Anniesland with the number of apartments reduced since the initial application.
Elder & Cannon Architects and developer Calmont Group are seeking planning consent for 123 apartments at 21 Herschell Street.
A pre-application consultation last year sought views on 136 apartments at the site, beside the northbound platform of Anniesland station and the car park of a Morrisons supermarket.
Under the plans, the dwellings would mainly comprise one-bed flats and larger two-bed corner flats, along with a smaller number of studio apartments. There would be two blocks of five to seven storeys with landscaped courtyard spaces, communal gardens, roof terraces and large private balconies or terraces for every dwelling.
The application supercedes a previously approved plan to convert the building into 48 residential flats. However, Mactaggart & Mickel did not proceed and the building has since been demolished.
