Reidvale Housing Association rejoins GWSF
Reidvale Housing Association and the Glasgow and West of Scotland Forum of Housing Associations (GWSF) have expressed their delight that the Association has rejoined the organisation following a unanimous decision of Reidvale’s management committee last week.
In January 2024, Reidvale’s members rejected the proposed transfer of engagements to Places for People Scotland, and a new management committee and interim director have since been put in place.
Denise Dempsey, chair of Reidvale, said: “Our management committee had no hesitation in joining GWSF. Our recent experience has underlined the value of having a membership body which specifically promotes the role of locally based associations.
“And on top of this, GWSF membership brings many additional opportunities for both staff and committee members to network with, and learn from, other associations.”
GWSF chair John Hamilton said: “Reidvale rejoining the Forum feels like a really significant, symbolic moment. The Association which is returning to GWSF is very different from the one that left, and whilst everyone knows big challenges remain, we’re both delighted and relieved that Reidvale has decided to renew its relationship with us.”
