Residential development planned at Aberdeen haulage depot
An Aberdeen site currently used as a depot for a light haulage company could be transformed into 47 new flats.
Tinto Architecture has lodged plans to develop a mix of one and two-bedroom properties on the plot at 56 Park Road in the northeast of the city.
The proposed site is adjacent to a recent development of 174 flats by Barratt Homes. As such, Tinto said the site’s commercial use is “becoming redundant”.
The practice then entered into discussions with Aberdeen City Council to meet a shortfall in council home design standards. The flats will also help to meet the city’s shortfall of one and two-bedroom properties.
Tinto Architecture added: “We believe that this development would be well integrated with its surroundings, a welcome addition to the housing provision in the city centre, and an interesting addition to the varied and exciting city skyline.”
