Restoration work begins on Gorbals landmark
Work to restore and transform the last remaining example of Gorbals tenemental architecture into flats and community facilities has begun.
Glasgow City Council confirmed that the major project, led by Southside Housing Association, has been prioritised and will continue apace.
The former British Linen Bank will be brought back to life as six two-bedroom flats for mid-market rent on the upper levels.
The ground floor is envisaged to become a cafe/restaurant which will provide an important social hub to the newly developed Laurieston residential area.
