Revised plans lodged for Cathcart & District flats
Cathcart & District Housing Association has revisited plans to deliver new homes in Craig Road, Glasgow.
The designs will provide eight apartments for social rent in a four-storey apartment block off Clarkston Road.
The number of properties is four fewer than the 12 homes included in earlier proposals for the same site.
Now the block will include four 3-bedroom and four 2-bedroom flats.
Assist Design has again been drafted in to prepare the application.
Outlining the design principles behind the development Assist wrote: “The street facing building line is level with the adjacent tenement, however, incorporates two setbacks in the massing: one to avoid interfering with the tenement’s corner bay window, and another to prevent overshadowing of the neighbouring villa.
“This design allows the development to serve as the ‘end piece’ to the urban block, maintaining harmony with the surrounding buildings while providing space for parking and a landscaped garden.”
Each apartment will include a private sheltered ‘sun room balcony’ to maximise year-round daylight and offer residents access to shared amenity spaces to the front and rear.
