Revised plans submitted for new Glasgow homes
Carmichael Homes (Scotland) Ltd has submitted revised plans to build flats beside the ferry slipway at Yoker in Glasgow.
The firm has applied to Glasgow City Council seeking planning permission in principle for a block of apartments on vacant land at Yoker Ferry Road.
If approved, further detailed consent would be needed, although drawings are included with the proposal, reGlasgow reports.
Carmichael Homes intend to build 36 flats in a building that steps down from seven storeys to five storeys towards the Clyde. Undercroft parking would be provided.
A planning statement included with the application states that the development would bring “activity and life to this section of the River Clyde”.
It continues: “The proposal creates an opportunity to reuse a vacant site to create an attractive residential development providing desirable living accommodation in a well-connected location.”
A previous application for 40 apartments in a six-storey block was refused in May 2019.
Planners stated at the time that the proposal was “an inappropriate response to surrounding site context” and would “not contribute to minimising and reducing flood risk”.
