River Clyde Homes engages with the customers of tomorrow
River Clyde Homes is creating a selection of show flats at its £26 million Broomhill regeneration project in Greenock that will be available for prospective tenants to view in the coming months.
With the refurbished flats becoming ready in the near future they are keen to involve the local community in the development and have enrolled children from the nearby primary schools to design their own bedrooms.
The local children from primaries 6 & 7 of Whinhill Primary and St Patrick’s Primary have been invited to become interior designers of the future and enter a competition to design their ideal bedroom which they could then see become a reality.
The competition will allow them to explore colours, concept & design and budgets as they have will have to price a bed and a desk to fit within the room. The teachers of both primaries are delighted to be involved in this local initiative.
Mrs Nicolson, deputy head of Whinhill Primary School, said: “This is a really exciting way to involve the children in the Broomhill Project. They are delighted to be participating in the competition and are really getting involved with mood boards and budget sheets. We look forward to seeing what the children come up with.”
Chair of River Clyde Homes’ board, Albert Henderson, added: “This is a great opportunity to involve the local community and schools in our redevelopment of the Broomhill area. It will be an exciting challenge for the children and I wish them all the best with their entries.”
