River Clyde Homes hails support from Cash for Kids during COVID-19
The River Clyde Homes Group (RCH Group) has been continuing its good work in the Inverclyde community thanks to grant money from Cash for Kids.
Following two successful grant awards, which were used to fund food vouchers and food packs, Cash For Kids got in touch to offer a large amount of baby goods they had access to from a warehouse clearance.
Staff at River Clyde Homes have now taken receipt of an abundance of new baby items including cot and pram sheets and blankets, various baby clothes, mattresses, bibs, hats and rattles, which may help some of Inverclyde’s new parents who need it most during the current COVID-19 situation.
A number of families have already received a parcel and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. One father called to thank RCH, saying: “I am over the moon at the items I’ve received. They will be of great use for our nine-month-old baby girl and our new baby due in November.”
Such a terrific effort wouldn’t have been possible without the army of volunteers from the RCH Group, Inverclyde Community Action Response Group and Belville Community Gardens.
Items are currently being stored at Crawfurdsburn Community Centre courtesy of Belville Community Gardens and the Inverclyde Community Action Response Group. There are also other items available such as school type jumpers – navy and black, blue school polo tops/ shirts, shorts, leg warmers, kids boots, and ladies and kids navy trousers in various sizes.
These items are available to anyone in the Inverclyde community and access can be gained via your health visitor, social worker or other key worker who can arrange to pick up or by contacting Belville Community Gardens directly on (01475) 726034 to request a new baby pack.
Any RCH tenants wishing to take advantage of the Cash for Kids donation should contact their local housing officer on 0800 013 2196 and they will arrange for a pack to be made up by RCH staff and delivered by colleagues from Home Fix Scotland.
