Rural Housing Scotland to host free webinar on Community Right to Buy for Sustainable Development
New powers, which came into force this weekend, give communities the absolute right to buy land for sustainable development and allows them to nominate a third party, such as a housing association, to purchase the land on their behalf in order to develop it in line with community needs.
This opens up opportunities for many communities who desperately need more housing but do not have the land or lack the capacity to run a community-led housing project themselves. The new legislation if the final stage of the Scottish Government’s Land Reform (Scotland) 2016 Act.
Find out more in a free webinar from Rural Housing Scotland with Dave Thomson from the Scottish Government’s Community Land Team on April 29 at 10.30am.
