Provost Christine Simpson cut the ribbon marking the return to the offices following a much-needed renovation.

The office now provides a modern, spacious, energy-efficient and accessible environment for staff and RSHA’s tenants.

The event coincided with Scottish Housing Day 2019, which focussed on raising awareness about housing and housing issues.

Rural Stirling’s staff chose to mark the event by hosting a fundraising coffee morning for tenants and other guests to help raise funds for Startup Stirling, which is marking 25 years of helping people who encounter hardship in their lives.

To its great credit, the charity helps raise awareness of the difficulties faced by homelessness and starting out in a new home.

Startup Stirling supports families and individuals experiencing homelessness and financial hardship by providing home starter wellbeing packs, as well as running food banks and rural crisis food support across Stirlingshire.

The Provost enjoyed a coffee and home baking during her visit and was delighted funds were being raised for Startup Stirling which is her chosen charity of the year.

Particular tribute was paid to Malcolm Lee, the Association’s recently-retired asset manager who along with Glen Murray Architects - the designers of the improved layout - was fundamental in the success of the renovation project. John McLeod, the main building contractor, was also commended for the quality of the work.

Margaret Vass, RSHA chairperson, said: “We are delighted Provost Simpson was able to perform the opening of the refurbished offices and make it such a special day.”

Donna Birrell, RSHA chief executive, added: “The newly-refurbished offices reflect a significant transformation of our working environment and we hope tenants who visit us will agree.”
