Sanctuary Group has appointed Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) chief executive Trudi Elliott CBE as a non-executive group Board member.

Trudi joins the group as it embarks on its ambitious plan to build over 30,000 homes between now and 2027. She has considerable experience across the civil service, local government, charity and private sectors, with a strong track record in partnership working and delivery.

At the RTPI, which is the largest professional institute for planners in Europe, Trudi manages a team of around 80 staff, advises on various boards and committees, and leads on policy development.

She has previously been a director at the Government Office for the West Midlands, chief executive of West Midlands Regional Assembly (Regional Planning Body), director of Local Government Practice (West Midlands) and chief executive of Bridgnorth District Council.
