Scottish causes invited to apply for Miller Homes community funding
Miller Homes is inviting local groups and causes across Scotland to get involved in its next round of funding, giving those in need local to its developments a share of £10,000. Community Fund applications are now open.
The homebuilder has been making a sizeable impact on the local communities close to its developments, impacting the lives of many through this charitable initiative which has seen great success since it launched in September 2022.
Applications have been made by 2,128 groups and charities, seeing the developer successfully award 324 good causes to date, with grants totalling to £231,000. Collectively, Miller Homes has supported 109 groups in Scotland through its Scotland East and Scotland West regions, alongside Miller Homes’ timber frame business, Walker Timber in Bo’ness, directly impacting communities close to its developments.
David McGrath, divisional managing director for Miller Homes Scotland feels passionate about supporting local.
He said: “Community Fund is a great way to give our support to locals in the communities we’re building in. Each year we see a mix of applications and have helped a variety of different causes, from covering resources for local sports teams, helping musical groups looking to strengthen local talent and community gardening groups hoping to brighten towns, to supporting charities and making sure foodbanks are replenished.
“Whether you are at the early stages of a project and need a financial boost or are looking for a cash injection to help further ongoing efforts, Community Fund is a great opportunity to get that support.”
Groups will be asked how they plan on using the funding to support the community during the application process, whether it be through promoting education or wellbeing, by encouraging participation in sport and activities, or through enhancing local environments.
Applications for Community Fund will close on Monday 28 October, with a minimum of £250 and a maximum of £2,000 awarded. Successful applicants will be notified in November and payments awarded in December.
