Scrutiny excellence scoops award for Hillcrest tenants
Saturday night was a successful night for Hillcrest Housing Association’s tenants when they walked away as winners at the Tenant Information Services (TIS) awards ceremony.
A number of tenants volunteer their time to give feedback on services, suggestions on changes to policies and procedures and ensure that Hillcrest is providing the services that their customers want.
The award recognised their excellence in scrutiny and the difference that their time and commitment makes.
Carol Petrie, Hillcrest’s tenant participation officer, said: “I am absolutely delighted that their hard work has been recognised. We always thank our tenants for their time and feedback but to have it recognised on this national scale is just fantastic.
“I’ve worked in tenant participation for a number of years now and can see the difference that our tenants’ input makes. We have changed a number of services and the way we operate because of feedback received from tenant inspectors and scrutiny panels.
“The event itself was a great way to give something back to our tenants but to win the award really topped it off for them. Congratulations to everyone who has contributed and made our tenant participation meaningful.”
Tenants and staff involved dedicated the award to Keith Foreman. Keith was a tenant inspector with Hillcrest and after passing away a few weeks ago is sorely missed at meetings. Keith knew that their achievements had been shortlisted and on accepting the award tenants dedicated it to his memory.
The awards took place as part of the TIS annual conference at Westerwood Hotel, near Glasgow.
