Search begins for next CIH vice president

Current vice president Jim Strang

The search for the Chartered Institute of Housing’s (CIH) next vice president is officially underway with nominations now open.

Any CIH member can put themselves forward before the closing date of June 8. The candidates will be shortlisted and a vote of CIH’s membership will take place in July before the winner is announced in August.

The winning candidate will replace current vice president Jim Strang, who will step up to the role of president when Alison Inman leaves the role in September, before becoming president in September 2019.

Terrie Alafat CBE, chief executive of CIH, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with the passion and experience to help drive housing’s professional body forward at this crucial time.

“The winning candidate will serve as Jim’s vice president and put themselves on a direct route to becoming our president in September 2019. We’re really excited to see who comes forward for this crucial leadership role for CIH and for the housing sector and I would encourage anyone who is interested to have a look at the details or contact us for more information.”

Nominations close at 5pm on Friday 8 June.
