SFHA looks ahead to next 50 years with digital revamp

The Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA) is today launching a refreshed brand and website to better serve its members as the organisation celebrates its 50th anniversary.
Since 1975, SFHA has supported Scotland’s housing associations and co-operatives to thrive, ensuring they can provide warm, secure, affordable homes for tenants across Scotland. Today, SFHA’s members house 600,000 people across the country.
In 2024, SFHA worked with members to develop its organisational strategy, One Voice: Bringing Scotland’s Housing Associations Together. With today’s changes, the organisation hopes to deliver on the aim set out in One Voice, to create a broader, deeper and more inclusive relationship with members.
SFHA’s new website will provide members and their staff with a more tailored and user-friendly experience suited to their role. This includes a central dashboard which will allow users to seamlessly access relevant news articles, policy toolkits, member benefits, and key information at the click of a button. Individual users can also connect with each other through new forums, creating a digital space to bring together staff working in housing associations.

Alongside its new website, SFHA has also revamped its branding to align with its unique role as the ‘Voice of Scotland’s Housing Associations’. The new branding will include an enhanced, modern and vibrant colour palette as well as an updated and versatile logo which symbolises the breadth of its member housing associations.
CEO Sally Thomas has led the implementation of One Voice. Having been at the helm of SFHA for eight years, last month she announced her intention to step down.
Sally Thomas, SFHA CEO, said: “I’m very proud of what SFHA has achieved over the last half century, but as we look towards the next 50 years, we need to be even stronger. When we asked members for their views on SFHA’s work, they told us to be bold, challenging, and focused on both uniting and supporting the sector. This gave us the perfect opportunity to reflect, ask some fundamental questions, and prepare for the future.
“In doing that, we’ve changed not only how we look but how we’re supporting our members, through our new member-focused website.
“It’s a year of change for SFHA but I know that I’m leaving it in a stronger, resilient, more dynamic place than it’s ever been. That’s never been more important given the vital work our members do for people and communities in Scotland.”
