SFHA welcomes major milestone in Scottish devolved powers
The Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA) has welcomed the commencement of several sections of the Scotland Act 2016 by the UK Government.
The SFHA would like to see the Scottish Government to make use of these powers to alleviate the pressures of the UK Government’s welfare reform on Scotland’s housing associations.
Mary Taylor, SFHA chief executive, said: “We are pleased to see these powers coming to Scotland and hope to see them implemented as soon as practicable to safeguard the work of associations in relation to Housing Benefit payments.”
