Share celebrates Learning at Work Week

This week marks Learning at Work Week, which is an annual event designed to raise awareness of how important and beneficial continuous learning is.

As the learning and development partner for the housing sector, Share champions the benefits of learning and development and provide individuals, and organisations alike, with the tools, skills, knowledge and support they need to deliver in their role.

The theme for this year’s Learning at Work week is “Learning power”.

For individuals, continuous learning provides you with the power to develop and grow within your role and organisation. It also equips you with the knowledge and skills you need to grow your career and can provide you with more job or promotional opportunities. By learning something new or enhancing your existing knowledge, you will feel more empowered and confident, and it also helps stimulate those creative juices to provide you with innovative ideas or different ways to approach situations.

Undertaking a course or qualification also helps you to build connections with like-minded peers where you can support one another, share ideas and best practice, and really help foster those working relationships that will continue to support you within your career.

As an employer, it is important to invest and prioritise continuous development amongst your teams, as these are our future leaders and it is important to equip them with the skills needed to navigate both internal and external challenges and changes, and to be able to be creative, innovative and adaptable. Fostering a culture of growth, and continuous development within your organisation can help with staff retention, morale, job satisfaction and productivity. Colleagues feel valued by their organisation and are also equipped to be able to perform their role with the skills they have learned.

To celebrate this year’s Learning at Work week, Share has produced a Learning and Development Report that looks at learning and development trends for 2024 and beyond. You can view this by clicking here.

The team at Share have also provided their thoughts on the importance of continuous learning, and you can find out what they have to say on Share’s YouTube channel.
